can you see me now?
We added an Owl Van B2 & ladder. In fact, we were lucky enough to get the very last NCV3 model they ever made. Dudes at Owl totally came through for us, and for that we thank you.
We bolted on the Backwoods Adventure Mods boxes. These looked juuuust like the Owl boxes - but seriously cheaper in price. The only noticeable difference was Owl logo was replaced with the Backwoods mountains. Internet rumor is that they make them for Owl. Maybe they do. Maybe they don't. We love the Backwoods.
We attached a small RotopaX for our Honda generator gas, and another for a few extra gallons of diesel.

houston, we have a problem
All were amazing upgrades, but there was one (okay, two) very real and serious downside(s). Both posed safety and legal (po-po) issues.
The Sprinters tail lights were partially hidden by the boxes, and even more so by the rotopaX. We love Captain Crunch for breakfast, but not on the highway.
The license plate was no longer visible. Kinda mandatory in at least 50 of the states.
if you're not part of the solution, you're the precipitate.
We tried bolting the plate to the door of the box, and bought a mini solar light to illuminate it at night. It was twonky but functional. But, this didn't fix the tail light issue. So, what were we to do?
Answer? Light and license plate relocation. We've been towing boats and trailers forever - and realized that adding a simple trailer light kit would solve our woes. The lights could be mounted easily under the boxes for excellent visibility and the kit came with a license plate mount with LED light. Boom! Two birds, one stone.
As Jessie would say "Wire!"
But what about the wiring? At first, we just wired the lights into a 7 pin trailer plug - and used the trailer wiring adapter to provide the power. This had two issues -
You had to remember to unplug before opening the back door - or you'd rip out the wires. Super fun doing night repairs.
Something happened to one of the trailer wiring adapter wires in the coach and it died.
thank you "man with gun".

User named 'man with gun' answered our cries for help on a forum. His reco was simple but breakthrough. Tekonsha T-One Connector Harness. This bad boy snaps in-line with your existing tail light wiring to transfer turn / brake / light signals to the trailer light! Pure genius.
